Wedding weekend

This was dad practicing "giving the bride away" at the rehersal. I think it went pretty smooth during the actual ceremony. It was a cold and snowy day, Derek had to shovel the snow off the sidewalk. The church was beautiful and we managed to squish the 80 or so people in all the pews.
It's official. Signing the marriage certificate with Karen (who Lindsey met in the peace corp, she was ordained on the internet and married Lindsey and Brian), and Brian's sister Kaitlyn.

Lindsey made a very beautiful bride.
And post ceremony, the bride and groom ready to celebrate with their family and friends that traveled in from all over the country.

The Reception

Joey and Celia having a snack before dinner started. They ended up having macaroni and cheese later on.. always a good standby!

Well, they pulled off another great party! Thanks mom and dad for a very fun weekend.

The girl is getting marrried!!

This weekend I was in Duluth with a few of my friends and Lindsey's to celebrate her upcoming wedding. We started the morning running the Fitger's 5K in the cold and rain. Despite the weather it was still fun.
We then went to a spa, where we enjoyed massages, manicures, facials, or pedicures. A first for me, but i don't think it will be the last!!!
My little sister is getting married!!! We had a fun dinner at Old Chicago.

And we wrapped up the night at Grandma's Sports Garden. A very fun girl's night out! Another fun weekend is coming up. Everyone get your dancing shoes on!!!

We meet Madi

Derek and I had the day off today, so we took a ride down to Duluth so Derek could hit golf balls and so we could meet Madi. She is so cute and makes the funniest faces! We weren't able to stay too long, because Joey is a tornado that can trash a room in 30 seconds or less...
He found the bowl of jelly beans..
Joey did try to snuggle in to Madi, but only briefly, Derek was unable to capture it on film.

Got Snow?

Hailey was over entertaining Joey last night.. They're such good buddies!

Grandma B and Grandpa P got Joey his very own little lawn chair for his birthday. We spent ten minutes crawling in and out of it tonight. Too bad there is 2-3 feet of snow outside and more on Thursday... =)

Why do we live here?

Derek's a pretty tall guy, and the snow is past his knees. Gotta love it!

Snow Snow Go Away....

So, yesterday there was no snow.. we could see icky brown grass. I actually cut some dead things from my garden, we were cleaning up the yard... this is not helping our cabin fever.
looking out our back door. Derek already spent over an hour shoveling a few hours earlier. The dogs came in from outside and were covered in snowballs. Derek's good friend Donny Gentilini lost his dad on Tuesday to a brain anuerism. the funeral was yesterday. He was a very avid golfer and would golf 36 holes a day. Derek thinks this is his way of saying "if i can't golf no one can!"

Well, yesterday there was no snow.. and we took Joey to south side park which is like 2 blocks away, we stuck him in the swing and he loved it. Too bad we got a blizzard today!

Working on using a spoon. I recommend that anyone that has kids should get a dog. It definitely helps with clean up!!!
