We have a walker on our hands!

At 14 months we officially have a walker! Although she will still crawl, Audrey can walk! She is also getting more teeth. For the longest time she only had two teeth, now she has 4, and a 5th is poking its way through.

My mom was very excited to see this flower (Jack in the pulpit) growing in the wild. We were out at my parent's house tonight and went for a walk on the trail. Although the mosquitos are now out, we still enjoyed a quick walk
I am so anxious to get in my garden and plant, but don't want to lose them all to frost. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get my vegetable/herb garden going. Hope everyone is enjoying the spring. Derek is happy to be golfing, I am training for Grandma's Half Marathon, and have gotten up to 8.5 miles. We've been concerned about my cousin Mark's daughter Bryn ( age 6) who has been in an induced coma over the weekend and on a ventilator to stop seizures she had been having for a week. I know how I felt when Audrey was in the hospital for 3 days at 6 weeks old, and I can only imagine what they are going through. Things like that put everything into perspective. Everyone take some time to stop and enjoy the little things in life. When it comes down to it, if you are healthy and you've got your family, nothing else matters.

opening fishing

So with Derek's new schedule, he has been able to take the kids a day a week, so they go to day care 3 days a week now. I came home on friday, to find the biggest tub of cheese balls on the counter. The house was clean, and the kids were quietly eating their cheese balls..I guess he found the secret!
Joey and Winfrey.
Brr! Opening fishing was so cold!!! I felt like we were at Lake Superior!

(cheese balls)
Joey had the best time playing with the minnows. He loved them so much, he gave one a kiss. (eww!)

Joey was such a good helper picking up sticks and loading up the gator.
Out of order pictures..but a few weeks ago Leo came over to hang out. All they wanted to do was eat chips and watch a movie.

Day in DUluth

With Derek's new schedule, we will share a day off during the week sometimes. So last week Joey said he wanted to go see the trains at the Depot. We called the Padgett girls, and they met us down there.
The kids had fun playing at the Children's Museum. It was nice because they basically had the whole place to themselves! Duluth is great during the week!

And of course, Joey wanted to throw rocks in the water. It wasn't the warmest of days, but he had fun anyway.

For some reason, this child only gets holes in the right pants leg of his jeans. hmmm...

Audrey loved sitting and touching all the different rocks. This girl loves to be outside. She crawls to the back door and grabs her jacket and tries to put it on.
The kids don't quite get the whole "timer" set up on the camera..oh well! Hopefully summer will come for us soon!
