Weekend in Duluth

We stayed in Duluth this weekend with the Skubic gang and had a great time despite very windy weather! The waves were very big, and the dad's would have to grab the kids and run away from the shoreline because the water would come so close!
The two kids were very well behaved, they sat very still, and enjoyed playing in the pack and play.... yea right. I think they stayed in here for 10 seconds or less!!!
We chased toddlers around the lake walk and canal park. They got lots of exercise and fresh air and took good naps and slept well at night. Who knew a bike rack could be so fun to play on??

Out to dinner. We decided next time we should bring Grandparents??? Cause when the kids were done... they were done...

PS i got to see baby Clark in the NICU, he is very cute. Julie said yesterday that they discontinued his oxygen. His respiration rate is still funky, he was now jaundice, but they were hoping to be home Tuesday.
There were some big waves in Duluth!!! The sun finally came out!
We needed hats and warm clothes!! Hey, I thought we were all going to buy matching vests??
The Aho's and The Skubic's enjoying a swim at the Canal Park Lodge pool. I think the kids enjoyed it the most!
The kids had fun on the luggage cart.
And then shared a snack together before it was time to go!

HI Auntie Binzer.. here's some photos

Do you like my jelly smile? I love jelly, I just eat the jelly off whatever my parents put it on...
Just being silly...
Leo turned 2 yrs. old today. Grandma Johnson made him a special Elmo cake, that the kids got to eat. Joey, Leo, and Isabelle (Jaime Myre's daughter) enjoyed the cake!!! Julie and Kevin go to the hospital tomorrow for a scheduled C-section. Baby #2 should be here after 12:00 noon!

In the Woods

We went out to my father-in-law's land on Saturday. Joey got to ride on the 4 wheeler with Grandpa, while Grandma, Derek and I hiked about a mile to the top of this beautiful ravine. Then it started to pour!!!!!
The dogs loved being outside and so did Joey!
..Before the big downpour...

This picture is for Tony Maras. We were at the lake this weekend, and saw a huge snapping turtle trying to cross the road. He looked pretty tired!
It was a hot weekend, we tried to stay cool. I spent the weekend watching the weather channel and talking to binz and brian. See comments on hurricane update post. They are fine, just without power at this time.
This last week was the craziest week ever. After injuring my foot, I went to the doctor, it wasn't broken, but I had a sinus infection. Derek had a bad cold, his union voted for the intent to strike, Lindsey was about to be in a hurricane, we had to bring Bentley to the vet for an enema because he ate a knuckle bone and couldn't poop. The first enema didn't work, so we had to bring him in for a second one. You know your life is interesting when the whole family keeps watching the dog cheering him on to try and poop!
But things turned around. I got antibiotics, Derek's union has a tentative contract, Bentley pooped, and the Hurricane wasn't as bad as they thought.
